IDC’s Nominations Committee is comprised of skilled and impartial members, tasked with identifying and selecting potential candidates for key leadership positions within IDC.

Keshia Caplette, Chair

IDC Past President, Keshia Caplette is a versatile and innovative Métis interior designer with the Interior Designers Association of Saskatchewan (IDAS). With over a decade of experience in the interior design, architectural and construction industries, Keshia has worked on a variety of projects ranging from residential, multi-family, industrial and institutional work, and corporate ventures. She has an inclination for healthcare design and a desire to strengthen the experience for all those using our medical facilities. Keshia believes that by rethinking and (re)creating the spaces with which we surround ourselves, we can transform our day-to-day experiences and bring a little bit of light to our shared world.

Serving on IDC’s board has been an opportunity to grow, both as a designer and an individual. Keshia brings a strong voice for members across the country based on the network she has fostered through the Propel program, IDCEC board involvement and her involvement with IDC committees and activities. Keshia strongly believes in the advocacy efforts that IDC has undertaken as an association and is passionate about ensuring the interior design professions is moving forward.

Angela Colley

A design professional for over twenty, Angela is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She is also a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). In Florida, as the owner of A C Styles Designs, LLC she specialized in both residential and commercial interiors. She is the past President for the ASID Florida South Chapter for years 2014-2015 and 2018-2019.

Once moving back home to Nova Scotia, she became a registered interior designer in Nova Scotia and is a member of the Interior Designers of Nova Scotia (IDNS) and is the board’s Membership Director. She ran her own design firm, A Colley Interior Design, but has just recently joined the design team with T.A. Scott Architecture + Design. Angela has a passion for design and loves creating innovative spaces.

Paola Marques

Paola’s passion for design started with an introduction by her high school calculus teacher to his spouse, Eleanor Brydon, one of the founding partners at Rice Brydon, a powerhouse interior design firm based in Toronto. Paola was toured around the office and had the privilege of spending time with Eleanor Brydon, who was very supportive and inspiring. Eleanor gave Paola a signed copy of their book “Organization & Design: The Double Discipline and she still has it. Paola was hooked and knew this was her future! Paola has a B.A.A.I.D from Ryerson Polytech (now TMU) and started her career in Toronto learning about design & office planning, retail design, and project management. A move to Montreal allowed Paola to hone her design skill set while managing national and international projects. These opportunities touched on multiple retail categories including hospitality, health & wellness and food & beverage. Paola has partnered on projects for singular retail brands as well as on large scale retail development initiatives. Managing teams with varied and diverse expertise over the years, Paola has benefited from the knowledge those relationships impart. Paola is grateful to have had the privilege of continuously evolving in and sharing a creative profession with other passionate people.

Michele Sigurdson

Michele Sigurdson heads DIALOG’s national interior design discipline and leads the Vancouver and Edmonton studios’ interior design teams. She believes that inspiring interior design is fundamental to creating holistic spaces that meld function with imagination, improve health and wellbeing, and respect diversity, fostering a true sense of belonging and stewardship. Michele is NCIDQ certified and is a Registered Interior Designer with the Interior Designers Institute of BC and Interior Designers of Canada. Throughout her 26 years at DIALOG – including 14 years as a Partner – Michele’s dynamic leadership has resulted in inspiring and award-winning spaces that embody the clients’ needs, aspirations, brand, and vision.

 

Shannon Robinson

Shannon has been involved in the industry since 2012 and has a diverse background working on complex projects – providing professional services for private and public sector clients. As Studio Manager, Interior Architecture and Design, Shannon is responsible for the business development, operations, staff management, and overall growth and development of an Ottawa interior design studio.
