On Nov. 30, IDC ended this year's roster of events

On Nov. 30, IDC ended this year's roster of events with a celebration of design at the Regional Impact Breakfast, presented by @ShawContract, in Toronto! This annual event celebrates the significant contributions of Canadian design professionals and the impact their legacy continues to have on the interior design community.

Attendees enjoyed a delectable breakfast and joined in celebrating the continuously evolving legacy of this year’s honourees, Allan Guinan and Caroline Hughes, who along with Chris Wright and others co-founded @figure3design, one of Canada’s most distinguished interior design firms. The honorees were joined by Deborah Wang, Artistic Director at @designtofestival for an insightful and inspiring on-stage interview.

"As it relates to residential design, several humancentric factors were considered to ensure comfort and functionality were prioritized in the built environment. During the early-stages of the renovation, asbestos was found in certain parts of the home; these areas were rectified to ensure there were no future health risks.

As it relates to designing for the end user, a thoughtful approach was taken to every design decision made. Access to natural daylight was an important priority for the client- as their work needs evolved during the pandemic, it was important to have the flexibility to work from home in a bright and open environment."
