This year IDC celebrates 50 years as the national advocacy association for interior designers in Canada and the annual design symposium will be held in person on Oct. 19 and 20, 2022 at Cosentino City Toronto, where the opening reception will also be hosted.

“After a few years of not being able to fully connect in person, Cosentino is proud to be the presenting partner of the 2022 IDC Design Symposium,” says Karim Guirguis, Regional Director, Cosentino Canada. “This sponsorship allows us to support and celebrate Canada’s thriving interior design industry.”

The two-day event features a program of in-depth panels, inspiring keynote presentations, the PROpel Emerging Leaders program, and an award presentation, featuring the prestigious Value of Design Awards (VODA). This year we learn from the change-makers, reflect on the issues facing designers today, and seek solutions for a better future for the next generations of interior designers.

“Cosentino has a strong presence from coast to coast and now more than ever, we look forward to developing new relationships and continuing to foster existing relationships with this talented, remarkable community,” says Guirguis.

To mark the occasion of IDC’s 50th anniversary, the theme of this year’s design symposium is ‘Legacy of Design: Past, Present, and Future.’

“This year’s conference theme aligns perfectly with Cosentino’s sustainability efforts of creating an eco-friendlier surface industry through product and process, which attendees will be able to experience during the symposium,” adds Guirguis.

Participants can expect to attend design tours of notable member projects, connect and network with peers, collect IDCEC credits through panel discussions, hear from incredible speakers, participate in a design charette, and cheer on their colleagues and friends at the IDC awards.

Registration and the full lineup of events and programming for the two-day symposium will be available soon!
