5 p.m. Registration and Reception
6 to 9 p.m. Annual General Meeting

As part of the meeting, ARIDO will host two panel discussions:

Is There a Case for Regulation?
Moderator: Susan Wiggins
Panellists: Alison Logue, Lynn McGregor, David Gibbons, Caroline Robbie, Peter Heys,

In our last round of negotiations with the Government to request a Practice Act for the profession of interior design, our attempts were unsuccessful because, in their minds, we were unable to demonstrate that a problem exists. The reason we cannot convince the Government to regulate the profession is that they do not believe it is a matter of health, safety and welfare. In other words, there have been no serious cases of harm. Is that true and if so, what then is the argument for regulation?

How Many Points = Quality Professional Development?
Sue Bennett
Panellists: Deborah Rutherford, Theo West-Parks, Victoria Horobin, Maria Lugosi

Continuing education and professional development is an important part of professionalism. It demonstrates to your clients, colleagues and employees that you are interested in ensuring your knowledge is current and that it supports your business. What is the best way for interior designers to learn; is it the classroom? On site tours? How many points is the right amount? Is free education good education?

ARIDO members will receive one (1) Practice and Participation point for attending the AGM and one (1 ) CEU point for attending the panel discussions.

AGM documents can be found in the secure section of the ARIDO website.
