IDC’s Industry Sales Professionals Course: Large Design & Architectural Firms

IDC’s popular Industry Sales Professionals Course (ISPC) series has returned and will be held in a hybrid format, offering limited in-person participation to IDC members – interior designers, students, and interns for a chance to network and connect at Midgley Tecnica Ltd. in their showroom in Toronto. This panel will also be virtually broadcast to everyone who registers for the online course.
Tailored exclusively to meet the needs of architecture and design industry sales professionals, this practically-oriented course will feature several Q & A sessions with panels of registered interior designers and architects, drawn from boutique and large design firms serving the retail, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and residential sectors.
The series will run monthly from October to early December. Participants who attend three or more panels will receive an official ISPC certificate and LinkedIn designation. A certificate of completion will be issued to all registrants in attendance for each panel.
Large Design and Architectural Firms
During the Q & A session, “Large Design and Architectural Firms”, hear from senior interior designers about what they need from sales professionals, and how best to go about working with them in order to become a trusted resource. Learn about this unique design sector and the expectations of designers. Additionally, the panel addresses post-COVID-19 industry, and how firms are working, particularly with Industry partners. Firms have new policies and procedures when working with Industry representatives. These changes are discussed, and give Industry representatives valuable information moving forward.

Glen Brewer is President, and Managing Partner of Midgley Tecnica, a distributor in the porcelain tile sector. He is a current IDC board member, representing manufacturers and suppliers. Glen is also IDC’s industry committee chair and leads and moderates IDC’s Sales Professionals Training Course. Glen is a strong advocate for designers and the design community, he is a past winner of IDC’s Legacy Award for Distinguished Service, the most prestigious individual award presented by IDC. Glen currently sits on a variety of additional boards and committees, including The Retail Design Institute, Sheridan College, and DDA. Glen is also an author and presenter for IDCEC CEUs. He is an active participant in IDC’s national DesignEX shows, as both a speaker/presenter and table-top attendee. His company is a strong advocate of IDC as an Industry Partner member.
