PROpel is a national competition created exclusively for emerging leaders, providing the opportunity for engagement in discussions and connections with influential representatives in the interior design community. This year, the opportunity to engage and connect with designers in the industry will look a little different in light of the effects of the global pandemic. Instead, each participant will be announced as part of a promotional series on a weekly basis with a short profile published across IDC’s social media platforms, newsletters and honoured at the IDC Awards Celebration on September 23, 2020.

Congratulations to all 2020 Emerging Leaders Program participants!

Design can have a positive impact on an economic, social, and environmental level. Design is truly valuable in that it takes into account the past, present, and future. It is based on historic precedent, environmental design research, social and cultural influences and functional needs.

Casey Yuen is a Toronto, Ont. based designer at B+H Architects where she specializes in workplace environments for companies across the country. For more than three years, Casey has helped a wide variety of companies develop and thrive in their new space. At B+H, she has taken the initiative to get involved with the business outside of design, and along with contributing to design projects, she assists the proposals specialist in developing graphics and visual aids for RFP responses. Casey has also recently participated in IDC’s advocacy video campaign and will be joining the team on upcoming outreach presentations to high schools, colleges and universities in the GTA.
