Virtual CEU: Advancements in Door Hardware
September 28 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT
Door Hardware plays an integral role in the security of the occupants of the building, but it can also play a larger role in safety when designed properly for the use of the building. In this session, the course leader(s) will outline recent advancements and technologies that have been introduced to residential door hardware that help make buildings safe and secure for all occupants. They will also outline the uses of these technologies to alter interactions and provide additional security to owners, staff, and occupants while in use of the building.
This course will also explain the benefits of specifying technologies in common door hardware areas for Single-family, row, low-rise Multi-family, and high-rise Multi-family buildings and the different concerns for each building type. Finally, a discussion on the building code requirements in Canada for maintenance access and one-key requirements will discuss alternate solutions that protect the occupants and operating companies.
