World Interiors Day

Published by Sarah Bradbury, May 25, 2015.

World Interiors Day, held annually on the last Saturday in May, is a worldwide event that celebrates the positive impact of design on society. Spearheaded by the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI), the event shines a spotlight on interior design and its role in creating better places to live, work, and play.

This year’s theme, Design For All, is about recognizing how design solutions can improve lives and create more inclusive environments. As IDC gets ready to celebrate World Interiors Day on May 30, here’s how another association is marking this important day:

“In Quebec, we celebrate design throughout the month of May. The month is packed with an international fair, a design market and a design award gala – each engaging designers and providing an opportunity to share knowledge and expertise with the public. In addition, the APDIQ held its Annual Meeting as well as another speed-mentoring event, and the industry goes all-out to offer activities and opportunities to celebrate. This month of design in Québec comes to its end on May 30. For World Interiors Day, the Québécois interior designers and the APDIQ will celebrate with... a well-earned rest!”
