IDC and ASID to launch joint magazine

Published by Patrick Voisin, June 05, 2017.

Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) are embarking on a new initiative that will bring their individual membership magazines—D and ICON—together into one new publication with broadened perspective and reach.

The common goals of both IDC and ASID are to advance the profession of interior design and build greater public awareness of the significant, positive impact their members bring to the built environment and to humankind.

Building on the two organizations’ previous collaborations for the benefit of the design community at large, the new magazine will bring readers unique design perspectives from around the world as well as a series of insightful, issues-led features touching on existing and emerging topics that simultaneously challenge and inspire the profession.

An advisory committee from across North America has been established to contribute to the editorial vision for the new magazine, which includes two IDC Board members, who will ensure Canadian design identity and the unique Canadian perspective is well represented in each issue.

More information about the joint magazine will be announced soon. For inquiries, email
