Published by Patrick Voisin, February 22, 2017.

Unique Opportunity for IDC Registered Members.

Mission dates: April 22-26, 2017
Application Deadline: March 9, 2017

IDC is seeking a partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) to offer a trade mission to High Point Market in North Carolina.

The High Point Market is the largest furnishing industry trade show in the world, with more than 75,000 attendees from over 100 countries walking through the doors every six months. Experience what more than 2,000 exhibitors have to offer and explore tens of thousands of new product introductions, all taking place in 180 buildings across 11.5 million sq. ft. of show space. Because if you can’t find it at High Point… it probably doesn’t exist.

This mission has room for only 8 interior designers, so you’ll have to act fast to be eligible to attend! All approved delegates will receive subsidy, the equivalent of up to 50% on airfare, hotel, meals and local travel costs (dependant on approval of funding - certain conditions apply. See Member’s responsibilities, below.)

We will arrive in Greensboro, North Carolina, Saturday, April 22, and return home on Wednesday, April 26. All flights will be arranged by IDC’s preferred travel agent.

To apply, please complete the attached application form and email to IDC, attention Irma Kemp, Executive Assistant, no later than Thursday, March 9, 2017. All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and successful participants will be confirmed by March 13.

Member’s responsibilities:

1) Immediately upon acceptance, book airfare with IDC’s preferred travel agent and submit receipt to IDC for 50% reimbursement (to a maximum of $500 - dependant on approval of funding).

2) Submit payment to IDC in the amount of $1,250*, which covers approximately 50% of four nights hotel, most meals, and local transportation, on or before Monday, March 20, 2017. The other 50% of all costs is covered by DFAIT. (dependant on approval of funding)

3) All out-of-pocket expenses, alcoholic beverages, tips and gratuities, transportation to and from Canadian airport and any additional travel or meetings not included in the IDC itinerary are your personal expense and responsibility.

This is a unique opportunity for you to explore business opportunities in the United States.

*If actual expenses are lower than budgeted, delegates will receive a refund within 120 days of our return home.
