IDC member benefit puts members in front of Minister

Published by Sarah Bradbury, February 17, 2015.

Thanks to an IDC discount on membership with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), Vancouver-based interior design firm Bob’s Your Uncle (BYU) Design had the opportunity to discuss key issues and red tape challenges with Treasury Board President, Tony Clement on February 11.

The roundtable meeting, chaired by CFIB, touched on skilled labour shortages, cross-provincial trade difficulties, and prohibitive regulations on business in Canada (as compared to the European Union and United States).

BYU Design was able to be at the table, represented by controller Janet Gilleshammer, after taking advantage of IDC’s discount on CFIB membership. CFIB is the big voice for small businesses, and IDC has negotiated exclusive rates to bring IDC members 25% off regular CFIB membership and access to special seminars and workshops.

Getting the chance to meet Tony Clement and to discuss industry-related concerns was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and would not have been possible without IDC’s continued efforts to bring members the latest deals and discounts. Learn more about how you can make the most of IDC’s exclusive membership benefits.
