IDC helps PROpel the next generation of interior designers

Published by Sarah Bradbury, April 14, 2015.

Since the December 2014 launch of IDC’s webinar and conference series exclusively for emerging professionals, PROpel: What’s Your Amazing? has achieved unprecedented engagement with participation from more than 150 intern and final-year students from across Canada.

Participants have joined our online conversation at, watched eight online journeys hosted by our program partners, and shared their ideas on the issues that affect them as the next generation of interior designers.

These thought-provoking, online discussions have been so successful, that since the program’s debut, over 700 ideas have been shared, over 2,000 comments have been made, and more than 6,000 total interactions have taken place.

Maria from Vancouver voiced her thoughts online: “It seems like I've known some of the participants for a long time because I know their stories. We have similar concerns, we like sharing ideas. It also feels very safe to communicate here, so I feel comfortable sharing my ideas and commenting on others' ideas. Great job IDC!”

Participants have been earning points along the way so they can win a two-day, all-expense-paid trip to IDC’s PROpel: What’s Your Amazing? conference in Montreal, May 29-30.

We’re currently tallying the results and getting ready to invite the top 40 emerging professionals with the highest number of points to join us for this amazing event. Emerging professionals will look forward to:

  • Inspirational and motivational keynote speakers;
  • In-depth discussions about the topics we’ve covered at;
  • One-on-one time with our amazing industry thought leaders;
  • And so much more!

We will announce the winners in the next issue of ID Connects.
