Measuring the success of the designed environment

Published by Julia Salerno, October 25, 2010.

As interior design evolves and economic perspectives have shifted, there is a great deal of emphasis placed on measuring the success of the designed environment. This IDC sponsored International Interior Design Roundtable, Design Success, will feature a panel of leading designers set to tackle a high-level discussion on how best to define "success" and the most relevant measurement factors.

The Roundtable will delve beyond strategy, innovation, and creativity and will look at how, without an accepted metric, this can be done effectively. Design Success will take place Thursday, December 2 in Toronto, as part of Construct Canada. Construct Canada is Canada's largest construction exposition and conference, which brings together buyers and decision-makers from the building, construction, and design industry.

The Roundtable panelists include Michelle Biggar, principal, mcfarlane |green| biggar; Paul Filek, managing partner, Burdifilek; Lionel Ohayon, founder and owner, ICRAVE; and Lauren Rotttet, Rottet Studios. The Roundtable will be moderated by Jonsara Ruth, director, MFA Interior Design, Parsons the New School for Design.
