IDC Board of Management strategizes in Montreal

Published by Julia Salerno, April 30, 2012.

For three days last week, IDC’s board of management came together in Montreal for its annual spring meeting. The goal of the meeting was to strategize for the future, measure our progress and to reconfirm our goals and objectives. Building on the positive momentum gained over the year, the board set its goals a little higher given all that was accomplished in the previous year. IDC’s executive director, Susan Wiggins led the visioning session, which included the board completing a “report card” exercise to rate our achievements against our three-year strategic plan, set in place at last year’s meeting in Victoria. IDC’s president, Donna Assaly chaired the weekend’s meetings “For the upcoming year, I believe we now have more direction on what to focus on along with some great new initiatives planned!” said Assaly.

The board enjoyed a joint dinner with the APDIQ board on Friday evening and the weekend’s meetings came to a close on the Saturday evening. “Engaging exercises and focused minds resulted in successful and inspiring meetings,” said IDC’s president, Donna Assaly about the meetings. “With Montreal as our backdrop and our get-togethers with the APDIQ board, the Mayor of Montreal and Mission Design served as good energy and kept us going throughout the entire weekend.”

In the coming weeks, IDC will be issuing a call for nominations for vacant positions on the board.
