Federal government commits to renew Canada’s infrastructure

Published by Julia Salerno, April 27, 2011.

Recent announcements made by the federal government state that they will work with provinces, municipalities and other stakeholders to meet Canada's future infrastructure needs by recapitalizing the Building Canada Plan in 2014.

Much of Canada's current infrastructure was built for population levels in the 1960s and for the expected 40 million Canadians by 2020. The investment in infrastructure will not only stimulate the economy, but it ensures Canada's ability to remain competitive on the international stage.
