NKBA Awards honour ARIDO members

Published by Julia Salerno, February 28, 2011.

The National Kitchen and Bath Association's Ontario Chapter (NKBA) held its annual NKBA Gala in Toronto last month, to announce the finalists of the 2011 NKBA Design Competition, honouring the best kitchen and bath designs of the year. Among the honourees was ARIDO member, Sandra Gibbons, who was honoured with the Local Chapter Growth Award for her work with the Kitchen and Bath program at Algonquin College.

The Local Chapter Growth Award is presented to an individual who has contributed to the growth of the chapter and the kitchen and bath industry in Ontario. Sandra Gibbon's commitment and passion for teaching kitchen and bath design at Algonquin and her instrumental role in developing the curriculum for what could be the first NKBA endorsed program in Ontario.

The 2011 competition honours the top three designs in each of ten categories, the nearly 500 entries received. The winning designs will be announced at the Design Competition Awards event on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 during the NKBA's Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Congratulations to ARIDO members: Victoria Shaw, Small Bathrooms and Large Bathrooms; Areti Tanya Rentzos, Showrooms; and Jane Lockhart, Large Kitchens. For more information on the Awards finalists, visit
