dhToronto will host the prestigious International Academy for Design and Health’s 10th World Congress (WCDH 2014) from July 9 to 13 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. As the premiere thought leadership event in the field, WCDH 2014 attracts the world’s leading researchers and practitioners who will share best practices, learning and science on the global application of salutogenic perspectives for improving human health, wellbeing and quality of life by design.

This five-day Congress includes: a three day conference, awards ceremony, product exhibition, networking events, a full day of site visits plus a pre-congress symposium on Healthy Cities 2030.

Pre-Congress Symposium: Healthy Cities 2030: Reshaping the Supply Chain to Improve Health and Quality of Life (Wednesday, July 9th)

Join IDC, ASID and IIDA for this panel discussion on designing cities to support healthier lifestyles and the policies and regulations necessary to support them.

Organized in partnership with the Canadian Urban Institute, this forum will explore: what process changes are critical for creating a seamless, more integrated information flow from the big-picture policy makers to the front lines of urban planning, architecture and healthcare providers; and how are health and economic impacts integrated effectively across site, neighbourhood, city and regional scales.

10th Design & Health World Congress (Thursday July 10th – Sunday, July 13th)

This year’s line-up of keynotes and session panelists will explore the interrelationship between research and real world experiences in the following major areas of design and health practice, like:
