IDIBC hosts pub quiz night

Published by Julia Salerno, June 01, 2011.

The Canucks were not the only game in town in Vancouver in May. IDI hosted a pub quiz night at The Cascade Room on May 17, in support of Amber Kingsnorth of the Vancouver Island Chapter and her cycling team - THE DESIGNERS SURVIVOR TOUR - in their conquest of The Ride to Conquer Cancer, June 18 and 19.

Industry members and designers sweated as they tried to answer questions covering every topic imaginable. It was heart-warming to have team ‘insighters' made of fresh young design faces correctly identify Neil Young, The Guess Who, and The Band for the Name That Tune Section - but they struck out on K-OS.

In the end it was team ‘Carnivors' (Justin Hughes/Divine Hardwood, Kate Holmes/VP Communications, IDI, and Lindsey Nelson/Unison Construction Management) who took the glory. A big THANK YOU to Nigel at The Cascade Room for allowing us to take over their fabulous pub. And, for the record, Lance Armstrong was NOT the first North American to don the yellow jersey in the Tour de France . It was Canada's own Alex Steida in 1986.
