Gerald Austen receives emeritus status

The PIDIM recently granted emeritus status to Gerald Austen, a Professional interior designer with a distinguished career that crossed many sectors of the industry. Gerald trained in the United Kingdom and practised in Winnipeg. He joined the PIDIM in 1975 and remained an active member throughout his career. Those who had the opportunity to work with Gerald valued the experience. He is said to have been a gentleman in his dealings with clients and colleagues alike. Gerald served as a mentor to young interior designers and contributed his skills to worthy causes such as Ronald McDonald House in Winnipeg. He believed in continuing his education through professional development. As noted by one of the members who worked with him, he was a true professional.
