Mount Royal University offers first accessible housing design program

Published by Candis Green, December 20, 2013.

This fall, Mount Royal University offered the first accessible housing design course in Canada, Accessibility: Implications for the Housing Market. Eight people from Ontario and Alberta enrolled in the 15-hour online course, part of Mount Royal's new Canadian Specialist in Accessible Housing program. This course will be offered again in February 2014.

As Canada’s population ages, the need for innovative housing solutions, such as aging-in-place, is growing. This online certificate program is designed for professionals in the housing and construction industry including builders, architects, home renovators, developers and interior designers. It is also suitable for health care specialists and others with an interest in accessible housing.
