Professional development cycle begins January 1, 2013 for IDIBC, APDIQ, IDA, ARIDNB, IDAS, IDNS

Published by Alexandra Tichinoff, January 02, 2013.

The new professional development cycle will begin on January 1 and run for three years to December 31, 2015. With this new cycle, IDC announces two very important changes.

1)      Provincial association members across Canada will follow one harmonized professional development program and cycle. The professional development program agreed to by all provinces in September, 2012 is easier to follow and now includes a mandatory requirement of a minimum number of Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) courses (e.g. building code, accessibility, ergonomics) during each cycle. Click here for details of new requirements.

2)      As of January, 2013 you will be able to use the new IDCEC automated system to manage and track your professional development, making it easier to report your participation in the program to the association.

In early January, members beginning a new cycle will receive a letter from IDCEC with a username and password to access the system. Learn more about IDCEC by visiting their website.

IDC encourages members to reach out to their provincial administrators for more information about the changes to this mandatory program.
