GTA Chapter: Career Xpress student event a great success

Published by Julia Salerno, January 27, 2011.

IDC Student and Intern members from across the ARIDO GTA Chapter received some valuable insight into the profession of interior design. Held January 15, at the IDC office, the Career Xpress event allowed students to meet and greet with professional interior designers and ask them the tough questions about the interview process, resume writing, and how to get their portfolios to stand out from the rest.

The event consisted of a panel discussion, with interior designers from each sector of design, followed by a portfolio review session, and a lesson on personal branding and business etiquette. The students learned what each interior designer looks for when hiring and got the opportunity to network and learn some tips and tricks about entering the workforce.
