IFI announces DFIE Global Symposium

Published by Julia Salerno, January 27, 2011.

International Federation of Interior Designers/Architects (IFI) launched the Design Frontiers/Futures: The Interiors Entity (DFIE) program in order to clarify and suggest new criteria for the interiors discipline and the future of the built environment. This is done by providing a platform for global discussion on the Value, Relevance, Responsibility and Identity of Interiors.

DFIE is a five-part program. The first, being the survey IDC released to members on behalf of IFI, and the second is the Global Symposium, to take place February 17 and 18, 2011, in New York City. As a member of IFI, IDC President, David Hanson and IDC Executive Director, Susan Wiggins, will be in New York to participate in the discussions taking place at the Symposium. The Symposium will bring together design professionals from around the globe, and will review the survey findings, debate core elements, and arrive at important next steps for the adoption and implementation of the criteria.
