Discover the secrets to risk taking and design innovation with Paul Rowan, co-founder of Umbra

Published by Alexandra Tichinoff, December 03, 2012.

The 2012 edition of IIDEX Canada included a special presentation by Paul Rowan, co-founder of Umbra who presented “The 10 of the 1,000 Risks I Took in Order to Innovate at Umbra”. Paul’s lively presentation explored the rewards and challenges of risk taking and how it impacts innovation. His mission as VP, Inspiration, is to collaborate with young designers around the world turning their product ideas into reality. In the design studio at Umbra he encourages his team to become "whole brain designers". Paul believes that product designers have more success when they consider every aspect of product development-design, production, marketing objectives and financial sustainability. Through the support of sponsors NUVO Magazine, IIDEX and Creative Mornings, Paul’s talk was recorded and we are excited to premiere this talk on-line for IDC members across Canada.
