Get involved was the message at recent school visits

Published by Julia Salerno, November 29, 2010.

ARIDO and IDC staff have been busy visiting first year students at each of the 10 recognized post-secondary interior design programs across Ontario. These annual visits promote both IDC and ARIDO to the students and serves to encourage them to get involved.

The whirlwind tour of schools began September 1, with a presentation to 120 students at Ryerson. Annick Mitchell, Program Chair, was pleased to announce this as one of the largest in-take classes in years. St. Clair College, Fanshawe, and Sheridan also boasted large numbers in their first year program.

The message to students at this point in their education and career path is simple: get involved and network now! Don't wait until you have graduated to begin participating within the industry. There are a number of ways for students to get involved in the association and the industry through volunteering, attending student events, and participating at student events at IIDEX.

Are you planning an event? Need a volunteer? Please consider including a student member of ARIDO.
Are you a student looking to get more involved in your association? Please contact We will gladly introduce you and help get you involved!
