First annual Dine by Design a huge success

Published by Julia Salerno, November 29, 2010.

The ARIDO GTA Chapter is pleased to announce that its first annual Dine by Design event was a great success! The event was planned for Student and Intern members to learn first hand about the design of a local restaurant, while dining with the interior designer. The ARIDO GTA Student Committee was delighted to host this year's Dine by Design at the Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill at 33 Yonge Street in Toronto. The restaurant was designed by Lindsey Anacleto of Anacleto Design.

The night began with social networking followed by an informative presentation of the restaurant design and construction process by Lindsey Anacleto and her team, all while enjoying a fantastic dinner! Lindsey spoke candidly about their relationship with Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants, the creation of Peter Oliver and Michael Bonacini, and how their experience with previous O&B locations helped create a cohesive design process. Lastly, Lindsey and her team conducted informal tours of the restaurant, providing unique stories about the restaurant design and challenging site conditions.

The night ended with rave reviews! The Students and Interns were extremely happy with the location, food, and speech by Lindsey Anacleto. GTA would like to thank the sponsors for being a part of the evening: "The Gallery on the Lake" and "Tayco". Special thanks to Anacleto Design and Oliver & Bonacini Cafe and Grill. Organized by ARIDO GTA Student Committee members: Mahesh Babooram, Vera Gisarov and Carly Durrant. Click here to view images of Dine by Design.
