Published by Alexandra Tichinoff, July 30, 2012.

Architecture Canada | RAIC, the Canadian Institute of Planners, and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects are pleased to present the award winners of the 2012 National Urban Design Awardsat IIDEX in September.

"The National Urban Design Awards recognize that architecture and urban design impact society and enriches our lives and stand as clear evidence that architecture matters. We are proud to celebrate the range of projects from communities across Canada and the calibre of this year's award recipients."
David Craddock,
President, Architecture Canada | RAIC

This awards program is designed to celebrate communities by recognizing individuals, organizations, firms and projects that have contributed to the sustainability and quality of life in our Canadian cities in an effort to promote public and private awareness of urban design. The National Urban Design Awards are part of a two-tier program held in co-operation with major metropolitan centres in Canada. Recipients are previous year's winners from participating municipalities, such as Toronto, Mississauga, Calgary, Edmonton, Vaughan and Ottawa, as well as submissions from other communities in Canada.

An exhibit of the winners will be on display at IIDEX and an awards presentation will take place on the keynote stage on Friday, September 21 at 3:30PM. Click here for more information and to view images of the winning projects and firms responsible.
