IDC launches new awards program for Intern/Provisional members

Published by Julia Salerno, July 29, 2011.

IDC is proud to have launched the first of three programs designed with Intern/Provisional members in mind. Members of the media, as well as the public, often ask IDC: Who are the young, up-and-comers of Canada's interior design industry? Now, IDC's first national awards program - Top 5 Under 5 - will draw attention to new talent. Intern/Provisional members, within the first five years of their career are invited to participate in this inaugural program.

IDC's newly formed EPIC committee, consisting of 15 Intern/Provisional members from across Canada, created the program to highlight the talent across Canada. Five winners will receive airfare to Toronto and accommodation for IIDEX/NeoCon Canada where they will be featured along with their projects.

In addition, winners and their supervisors will form a panel presentation to students at IIDEX where we can all watch as youth inspires youth. Winners will also be profiled in Canadian Interiors, ID Connections and on the IDC website, honoured at the ARIDO Awards celebration on September 21, and presented at IDC's Annual Meeting on September 24, held on the IIDEX/NeoCon Canada keynote stage. As an exciting added bonus, their prize package will include a vacation voucher for a trip of their choice!

Employers with worthy candidates can help encourage participation by beginning the conversation and promoting the program internally.
