Donate your social media feed to World Interiors Day

Published by Candis Green, March 31, 2014.

The International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) and the global interior design community will celebrate World Interiors Day 2014 on Saturday, May 31, 2014.

World Interiors Day is an annual event spearheaded by IFI and designed to spotlight Interior Architecture/Design. The event actively engages professionals, national organizations, design enthusiasts and the general public to explore creativity, imagination, vision and passion in relation to the role of interiors in society, culture and our future built environments.

This year’s theme “Design Matters” promotes the role that design serves as a medium for positive change. Design contributes to life quality with its pervasiveness and serves the human good though creativity and innovation.

Last year, IDC promoted World Interiors Day by reaching out to nine cities who proclaimed May 25, 2013 as World Interiors Day. We led a successful social media campaign giving our members 25 ways to mark the day and asked how you were choosing to celebrate your profession.

This year, we want World Interiors Day to go viral! On Saturday, May 31 and during the week leading up to World Interiors Day, we want all supporters of the profession to donate their corporate or personal social media feeds to interior design. Flood your followers with how much you love your profession and the importance of good design. Share images of your favourite spaces, your interior design offices and team and share what design means to you!

For more ideas on how you can donate your social media feed to World Interiors Day, stay tuned to IDC’s Twitter and Facebook pages and watch your inbox!

And of course – make sure to use the hashtag #worldinteriors.
