Algonquin College announces new interior design bridging courses

Published by Julia Salerno, March 29, 2011.

Algonquin College is pleased to announce a series of six new online Bachelor of Applied Arts - Interior Design (BAA - ID) bridging courses commencing September 2011.

This new program offers an opportunity for interior designers already in possession of a diploma credential to upgrade to a baccalaureate degree. Successful completion of six online courses, combined with a minimum of 14 weeks of approved work experience, will allow you to bridge into the fourth-year of Algonquin's CIDA accredited BAA - ID program.

The program was created to meet the recent change to an Ontario requirement for all practicing interior design professionals. The regulation states that beginning January 1, 2015, a four-year bachelor's degree will be the minimum standard of accreditation for both Intern and Registered membership categories within the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO).
