Interior designers toured the delectable Colette Grand Café

Earlier this month, a group of interior designers had the opportunity to learn more about one of Toronto’s newest restaurants: Colette Grand Café, a new concept French restaurant, bakery and café located inside Toronto’s Thompson Hotel.

Architect and principal at AUDAX Architecture, Gianpiero Pugliese walked participants through the new light-filled, French country-inspired space, formerly occupied by Scarpetta Restaurant, and spoke about how he used a design approach that married traditional elements of a French seaside bistro with contemporary materials, colours and patterns.

Design details included grand white archways and columns, coffered and barrel vaulted ceilings, tables in light coloured marble, dark accent millwork pieces, high-gloss bar and pastry counters, metal accents and luxurious fabrics. Guests also had the opportunity to learn how the interior design and layout of Colette created an enhanced customer experience, by allowing spaces to transition from one area of the restaurant to another.

The French bistro and its impressive interior design wowed attendees all of whom enjoyed their visit tremendously and promised to return for a bite to eat!
