Interior Design Keynote: Interior Design – The Future of the Profession at BUILDEX Calgary

As qualified design professionals, we are key contributors to sustainable, healthy, and economically viable spaces. Our scope of work spans construction and project management, design conceptualization, sustainability, health & wellness, and product and material selection. On top of this, we’ve taken on the complex role of “corporate strategist” consulting on productivity, culture, branding and more. As the demands of the market change and industry continues to evolve, we must ask ourselves how do we define our position in the building industry and advocate for a scope of work that enables us to best service our clients?

Addressing this exact question, The Future of the Profession brings together an esteemed panel of Industry Representatives from across the nation to discuss the challenges and opportunities that we as Interior Designers face. Examining the Interior Design profession in context of the national landscape, panelists will discuss regulatory advancements, expanding on the evolution of the industry at large and what we must do nationally and within our provinces to champion a prosperous future for our profession.

Panelists will conclude with predictions on where the industry is headed and what the future of our profession looks like.

Moderated by: Tony Brenders, CEO, Interior Designers of Canada
