“Bottom Line: most meetings are a waste of time.” - Renée Safrata

Organizing an effective and productive meeting is a skill that must be learned. Nothing wastes more time and money than having people sitting around a boardroom for an hour without a plan. Whether it is an internal or client meeting, you can learn how to take charge and execute an effective, productive meeting!  In this seminar, you will:
    • Learn about the different types of meetings any how the differ

    • Commit to setting and achieving meeting goals

You will leave this session with an understanding of the importance of structured meetings and a toolkit of meeting tactics to get started.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: HOW TO MANAGE WORKPLACE FLOODS AND VOLCANOES
    1 IDCEC HOUR | 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“The old adage of checking your emotions at the door no longer applies to the workplace. To be an effective team member, it’s best to be aware of and self-manage your emotions, rather than suppress them or let them run havoc.” - Renée Safrata

The management of emotions is an important skill to achieve project results, but it is rarely directly taught. In the face of deadlines we sometimes see a flood of emotions, experience inner turmoil, or even an eruption of conflict. If you've experience any of this, there is a good chance you are dealing with an emotional intelligence issue. In this seminar you will:

    • Understand the key factors of emotional intelligence
    • Recognition - Learn how to recognize symptoms and signs of low emotional intelligence
    • Self-Awareness - Learn the basics of how to effectively convey your emotions with others while at work

You will leave this session with an understanding of what emotional intelligence is and its importance within your work-based interactions, as well a process that you can use to develop your own emotional intelligence.

“By applying my emotional intelligence learnings; being aware of my emotions, choosing the most effective type of response, my direct reports remained engaged in our conversations instead of shutting down.” - Client Testimonial

LEADERSHIP: HOW GREAT LEADERS BUILD PRODUCTIVE TEAMS
    2 IDCEC HOURS | 1 to 3 p.m.

People are the lifeblood of any organization. At every level of the organization there is a responsibility to develop leadership and followership behaviours. As a leader, it is your job to get the most from the people you are leading. Chances are, you have some project teams that are not functioning optimally. Find out what tools you can apply within your teams to get them performing as highly productive teams.

In this seminar, you will be presented with six varied case studies that describe how the key indicators work within an organization. Each case study will be validated with industry research to provide leaders with powerful, validation on focusing on the soft skills. All participants will receive:

    • VIVO’s white-paper on the 10 Team Assumptions
    • VIVO’s online Team Diagnostic
    • And (if interested) a follow-up call with a VIVO expert to learn more about their diagnostic results

HOW TO GET PEOPLE TO DO WHAT YOU EXPECT
    1 IDCEC HOUR | 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.

Avoiding conflict and a culture where being liked is more important than being respected (in other words, trying too hard to be ‘nice’) can lead to lack of accountability on a team. As a result, teams produce low-quality work, miss deadlines, and engage in passive-aggressive conflict, causing productivity to plummet. In this seminar, you will learn:
    • The Six Steps to Painless Performance Accountability
    • How to identify the kind of diversion tactics individuals use to avoid accountability within a team and also discover what your personal diversion tactic is
    • How to implement a system which encourages team leaders to do regular ‘accountability check-ins’ – following up with team members to ensure they are meeting their commitments and doing good work

You’ll leave with new insight on how to teach people to make a commitment to achieve their collective goals and how to hold each other accountable.

Participants will get access to a download link for VIVO’s eBook: “THE COMPANY KILLER: HOW DYSFUNCTIONAL TEAMS ARE DESTROYING RESULTS”
