    9 - 10 a.m. | ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE CARD GAME (1 IDCEC hour + HSW) - Basic
     

    We believe Organizational Culture is… simply the personality of a company that contributes to a company’s sense of order, continuity and community. As a whole it is the prevailing values, attitudes, beliefs, artifacts, and behaviors. By using the Competing Values Framework Methodology developed by Cameron and Quinn we will engage in activity that defines 4 culture types, helps determine your own culture and how the knowledge of these culture types can assist in communication and design.

    Presenter: Yoel Berznoger, Architecture + Design Manager, Haworth

    As a graduate of the Interior Design program at Sheridan College, Yoel’s career began almost 20 years ago. Having practiced design and project management, Yoel brings a depth of understanding to his role as Architecture + Design Manager at Haworth. Yoel’s background and passion for workplace, combined with his knowledge of Haworth product, brings a more consultative approach to come up with more informed applications that make spaces perform above and beyond the typical product solutions.



    10:15 - 11:15 a.m. | WORKPLACE LANDSCAPE (1 IDCEC hour + HSW) - Intermediate
     

    This course explores what shared values knowledge workers carry with them through behavioral shifts and changes with time. Attendees will understand the continuous elements that influence work and how work gets done is critical to our perspective on what the work environment will be in the future. Results will be shared from a primary and secondary research study exploring these factors; along with content for planning environments based from this learned knowledge.

    11:30 -12:30 p.m. | THE EDGE OF WATER (1 IDCEC hour + HSW) - Intermediate 

    Understand the importance of water conservation efforts in buildings and recognize the types of requirements related to water-efficiency required by relevant green building rating systems and certification programs. Attendees will learn to identify specific strategies for improving water efficiency in buildings and take into account other sustainability considerations, such as design, quality, user experience, and manufacturing practices

    Presenter: Chris Hanson, Marketing Specialist, GROHE Canada

    Chris has been with GROHE since 2010. During his tenure at GROHE, Chris has had extensive product and industry training, leading to a trainer role with GROHE, beginning in 2015. Chris has a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Marketing from the Humber Business School and a Digital Marketing Certificate from the Canadian Marketing Association.

    1:30 - 2:30 p.m. | COLOUR AND PAINT IN THE ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE AGING  (1 IDCEC + HSW) - Basic 

    Provides an overview of the changes in color perception among the elderly as a result of aging or disease, with discussions of appropriate color use and application of low- or no-VOC, durable, high-quality paint to facilitate quality of life in all environments for aging.

    Presenter: Francena Swales, A&D Rep, Benjamin Moore & Co.

    Francena has utilized her many years of experience in the paint industry to connect with the architectural and design community. She offers assistance in specification writing, and enables the community with tools to use Benjamin Moore products with confidence. Francena has offered numerous educational sessions to help educate the design community.
