LEDs, Health and the New Lighting Metrics (1 IDCEC hour)

As we head towards more and more usage of LEDs, the way we discuss lighting and the way we quantify different aspects of lighting, has had to be modified. Most are now familiar with discussing LED life in terms of L70, L80, etc. However, it doesn’t - and it can’t - stop there. New metrics are being invented, discussed, debated, and implemented. This seminar will discuss the meaning and usage of CQS, S/P Ratios, EVE Factors, and COI, among others.

    SEMINAR #2 |  2 - 3:15 p.m. I Advanced
Designing with LEDs (1 IDCEC hour)

Everybody is talking about them. Everybody wants them. However few know the intricacies involved in designing with LEDs. LEDs deliver light in a totally different manner than conventional sources. Therefore, the designer needs to be aware of these differences BEFORE the project is completed.

    SEMINAR #3 |3:30 - 4:30 p.m. I Intermediate
Lighting for Merchandising Areas (1 IDCEC hour)
Lighting is an important contributor to the retail environment. The lighting design informs the consumer of the corporate image as well as price point and target audience. Utilizing various lighting techniques and choosing the correct luminaires are essential in providing illumination while meeting more and more strict power density regulations.
