    KEYNOTE PRESENTATION BY PETER WILKINS

    Join Peter Wilkins, a multimedia artist based in Clarke’s Beach, Newfoundland for a one-hour keynote presentation on his career and what inspires him. Wilkins’ various bodies of work have been exhibited in public and private galleries across Canada and around the world, including the 55th Venice Biennale: ABOUT TURN: Newfoundland in Venice with fellow collaborator Will Gill.     SPEAKER PETER WILKINS
    Peter Wilkins is a multimedia artist based in Clarke’s Beach, Newfoundland. Wilkins’ various bodies of work have been exhibited in public and private galleries across Canada and abroad, including The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery (St. Johns', NL), Confederation Centre Art Gallery (Charlottetown, PEI), the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (Victoria, B.C), and Canada House (London, England). His portrait and landscape artworks are held in public and private collections in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France and Greece. In 2009, Peter Wilkins was the inaugural artist-in-residence at Memorial University (St John’s, NL). In 2011, his works based on the architecture of Toronto were exhibited as a featured exhibition of the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival (Toronto, ON). In 2013, Wilkins exhibited at the 55th Venice Biennale in the Collateral Event, ABOUT TURN: Newfoundland in Venice, Will Gill & Peter Wilkins.

    INTEGRATED MODULAR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION FOR SUSTAINABLE BUILDING INTERIORS
    1 IDCEC HOUR + HSW | 1:15 to 2:15 P.M.

    This seminar explores integrated modular design and construction and the recent advances in technology that make it possible to integrate several modular systems at once. These systems address environmental and HSW concerns while speeding up design and construction processes and achieving cost savings. They are Anathea Kirkagile, the technology is easily integrated, and construction waste is virtually eliminated. Learn more about this next generation of building construction and how it integrates with other building software and processes.

    SPEAKER ANATHEA KIRK, DIRTT
    Anathea Kirk has spent the last 15 years in the modular construction industry in the U.S. and Canada. She manages all aspects of the client experience including initial presentation, budgeting, proposals, project meetings, and  installation. She has also developed and delivered internal training programs, and educated industry professionals about the merits of modular construction. She graduated with a B.Sc. in Biology from Dalhousie University and comes with a family background in construction. Currently Anathea is a sales representative.

    WORKPLACE WELLBEING
    1 IDCEC hour + HSW | 2:30 to 3:30 P.M.

    This course is about the importance of understanding wellbeing in the workplace. It is a growing concern for many organizations and is quickly becoming a bottom line issue that drives business performance. CEO’s value employees who are collaborative, communicative, creative and flexible. But only recently are leaders realizing that fostering these skills requires a focus on employees’ wellbeing. New Steelcase research and insights show how the workplace can help organizations attain employee wellbeing and the business results they desire. Learn how to design workplaces that support the physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing Rick Benoitof its employees.

    SPEAKER RICK BENOIT 

    Richard Benoit is a Workplace Consultant with the Advanced Solutions Team at Steelcase, and based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, he promotes the research and insights developed by the company to support the development of highly effective, interconnected workplace applications. Over his 25 year tenure, he has also worked on the marketing and development activities around the company including work tools, lighting, and architectural products. He has been involved with several key accounts including General Electric, Starbucks, Intuit, SunTrust Bank, Penske, and Clorox. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado.
