IDC Webinar: Top Up Your Toolbox: The Revised BIFMA Ergonomics Guideline (1 IDCEC hour + HSW)

The Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA) recently made revisions to its Ergonomics Guideline to reflect the changing shape and size of the North American adult population. The original 2002 recommendations were based on military anthropometric data. The availability of up-to-date civilian data, the Civilian American and European Surface Anthropometry Resource (CAESAR), prompted BIFMA to revise the Guideline to make it more reflective of today’s office workers. In addition to providing design guidance to manufacturers of furniture, the G1 recommendations guide specifiers/customers involved in the evaluation, specification and purchase of office furniture.

    • Summarize the importance of ergonomics standards and guidelines in workspace design
    • Describe key guiding principles for workspace design
