    CaGBC Webinar: Introduction to the Canadian Alternative Compliance Paths (ACPs) (1 non-IDCEC hour + 1 GBCI)

    This webinar will be of value to anyone intending to work on Canadian LEED v4 certification projects.

    The LEED version 4 (v4) rating systems were introduced by the USGBC in November 2013, providing one globally consistent set of systems. A global approach allows for practitioners of LEED to use one version no matter where they are in the world, and have LEED represent the same product worldwide. It also allows Canadians to take advantage of the full breadth of rating systems provided by the USGBC and the electronic resources of LEED Online. However, the USGBC recognizes the special circumstances that can be found in various countries, which has resulted in the development of Canadian-specific Alternative Compliance Paths (ACPs) for various credits.

    This webinar will provide an introduction to the ACPs, what they mean to Canadian projects, which Canadian ACPs have currently been developed, and how the Canadian ACPs will continue to grow. It will also provide information on additional tools, such as regional priority credits and the Substitution Table to allow earlier versions of LEED Canada to take advantage of adoption of select LEED v4 credits.

    Following this course, participants will be able to:

    • Describe how ACPs support the local relevancy of LEED v4;
    • Discuss which Canadian ACPs have been developed and are currently in development;
    • Identify and utilize additional supporting material, including the Substitution Table and using Regional Priority Credits, and;
