IDC Tour: Steelcase Toronto WorkLife Showroom (1 non-IDCEC hour)

Maximum of 20 attendees only - so register now!

Deadline to register is Friday, September 19, 2014.

From the outset, the new Toronto WorkLife showroom was conceptualized as an open office rather than as a traditional showroom. There was to be no distinction between work space and sales floor; the sales team works at the same workstations that are shown to clients, in an immersive experience that encourages interaction and fosters creativity.

Steelcase is engaged in research on the culture of mobile workers – understanding their expectations, and nurturing their creativity and collaborative skills.

Three architectural ‘pods’ were designed to achieve articulate specific program elements: a classroom (‘Learning Center’), an open teleconferencing area (‘Oasis’) and a lounge area (‘Reveal’). The pods create a dynamic and transformative experience that shifts the perception of the space, engaging visitors with the architecture, the program, and broad skyline views of the city − in a way that differs substantially from the typical office tower experience.

Join Meg Graham to tour this fantastic project!
