    Canada Green Building Council: LEED Canada for Home

    This full-day workshop provides essential knowledge of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Canada for Homes rating system. It provides the foundation required for more advanced LEED Canada for Homes training. 

     

    The target audience for this workshop is individuals seeking a better understanding of LEED Canada for Homes. This may include: home builders, interior designers, contractors, architects, project managers, developers, product manufacturers, real estate managers, owners and tenants, consultants and industry stakeholders. Group activities help demonstrate and reinforce learning.Individuals studying for the LEED AP with Homes credential may find this a useful workshop to attend as part of their study plan.


    COURSE OBJECTIVE

     

    • Explain the characteristics of green homes and LEED® Homes
    • Navigate the screcard and certification proces
    • Identify roles and responsibilities
    • Manage the costs associated with obtaining LEED Canada for Homes certification

    Qualifies for Level 200. 7 GBCI CE hours

    For the first time, this course will be held at the home of John Bell, host of season two of The World’s Greenest Homes on the Discovery Channel.  Bell gutted and retrofitted a home in midtown Toronto that save $325 per month in energy savings.

    During the course, you'll learn and interact with the home's green features such as a high-velocity air handler, high-efficiency insulation, LED lighting, solar panels, drain water heat recovery (DWHR) system and more.  Read more about the sustainable features of his home:
