    IDC Webinar: The Role of the Environmental Product Declaration (1 non-IDCEC hour - General, 1 GBCI)

    This course will help interior designers deepen their understanding of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) by exploring what they, how they can be used as a tool for transparency, and how they can be used in conjunction with other third-party certifications to maximize their contribution to sustainable design. 

    Paul Bates, MBA, LEED-AP, BC&D
    Paul serves as the National Manager, Training and Education Outreach for UL Environment. He is responsible for developing and delivering sustainably oriented education and training programs to a range of audiences including building operations, design professionals and students as well as professional trade organizations and consumers. Paul has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of West Florida as well as an Interior Design degree, (CIDA) from The University of Southern Mississippi. Previously, Paul was involved in project design, sales and marketing at design related firms, and is an Allied member, American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). He is an internationally recognized speaker on topics related to indoor air quality issues, healthier sustainable products and other aspects of sustainability that impact market segments such as commercial office, healthcare, education, as well as government and residential.
