    IDC Webinar: Design to Prevent the Damaging Effects of Mold 

    This intermediate course outlines the role of the designer in preventing mold in the built environment. Participants will learn about the devastating effect mold has on a building's structural integrity, material performance, bottom line and occupant health. The course will identify sources of moisture intrusion and outline preventive strategies to minimize it in the design, construction and operations and maintenance phases.

    Christina Zucco, Market Segment Manager for GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) Christina is responsible for educating the Early Education and K to 12 community on the importance of healthier more productive learning environments through better indoor air quality design and maintenance. Much of Christina's work involves speaking and lecturing at national conferences, local environmental organizations, and architectural and design firms to educate and encourage the continued progression of healthy, environmentally responsible design. Christina has a strong background in IAQ, education and architecture and design, having worked as an interior designer and most recently as an interior design instructor focusing on sustainable issues at the Art Institute of Atlanta.
    Christina received her Masters of Art, Interior Design at Marymount University in Arlington, VA and her Bachelor of Science, Environmental Business Economics at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. She is a LEED Green Associate, has passed the NCIDQ and is a member ASID (American Society of Interior Design).
