    IDC Webinar: Indoor Air Quality and Healing Environments 

    This intermediate course covers important issues that affect healthcare environments, such as chemical and biological hazards, special ventilation requirements, indoor air quality (IAQ), and changing methods of construction and design. With a focus on good IAQ, participants will learn how to apply sustainable design strategies from concept through construction, as well as operations and maintenance. Participants will also learn about building construction resources for creating high-performance healthcare buildings. Case studies illustrating the successes of existing high-performance healing environments will be examined.

    Paul Bates, MBA, LEED-AP
    Paul serves as the Market Outreach Manager for GREENGUARD Environmental Institute and is responsible for developing and delivering sustainably oriented education and training programs to a range of audiences including building operations, design students and professionals, professional trade organizations and consumers. Paul has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of West Florida as well as an Interior Design degree, (CIDA) from The University of Southern Mississippi. Previously, Paul was involved in project design, sales and marketing at design related firms, and is an Allied member, American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). He has spoken before more than 100 audiences internationally on topics related to indoor air quality issues that impact market segments such as commercial office, healthcare, education, as well as government and residential.

    GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI), an industry-independent organization that oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Program. The GREENGUARD Certification Program is a third-party testing program for low-emitting products and materials.
