About ARIDO    arido_logo_membee_inv.jpg

ARIDO is the only self-regulatory professional association for interior designers in Ontario, Canada. ARIDO's mandate is to serve the interests of both the public and the interior design industry. It does so by registering interior designers who meet an established standard of education, experience and examination, and identifies them as such, so that the public may make an informed choice for quality service.

Since its inception in 1934, ARIDO has grown to become the largest professional association of interior designers in Canada. ARIDO protects the right of interior designers to practise, promotes the benefits of working with an interior designer and educates the public in regards to interior design. In 1984 the ARIDO Act was passed in the Legislature of Ontario, the Act was amended by the passing of Bill Pr6 in 1999 to grant interior designers who meet ARIDO standards exclusive use of the title Interior Designer in Ontario. The act safeguards consumers by making clear the difference between professional interior designers and those unqualified to offer interior design services.
