PRESENTER | Rick Linley, Strong Practice Strategies

Rick Linley is an architect who practiced for 28 years with Smith Carter Architects and Engineers Inc. in Winnipeg. For the last 14 of those years, Rick was the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. He helped evolve the practice into one of the country’s largest privately held design firms. He retired in 2013 but got a little restless. He now leads Strong Practice Strategies, a management consultancy focussed on helping emerging and evolving design firm leaders to strengthen their practices.

PRESENTER | Thomas G. Frohlinger, PFK lawyers

Thomas Gordon Frohlinger obtained his LLB in 1981 and been in continuous practice since 1982. Before law he acquired an honours B.Sc in geology from McGill (1969); and an M.Sc in structural geology from the University of Manitoba (1973) and worked as an exploration geologist for over 9 years in Northern Canada. Tom's focus in practice includes the areas of entrepreneurial, commercial law and construction law, Northern development (natural resources, tourism, construction and north-south commerce), administrative law and litigation related to his practice areas. Tom is a professional engineer (P.Eng) and professional geoscientist (P.Geo.). He is the managing director of Pullan Kammerloch Frohlinger lawyers with offices in Winnipeg, Winkler, Morden and Selkirk Manitoba. In this capacity he was nominated as Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year 2004 in the professional services category for Western Canada. Tom has shared his experience with his profession. His career is marked by appointments to deliver lectures and examine in business, commerce, and management law, and ethics at the Faculty of Law, at Banff School of Advance Management in Alberta, the Law Society of Manitoba and other professional organizations. Tom Frohlinger and his firm's involvement in the life of Winnipeg leads to an association with the culture of the community (Folklorama, Rainbow Stage), sports (Frohlinger's a basketball aficionado, has been an owner of a professional basketball team and has held executive roles with the International Basketball Association), education, hospital fundraising (Children's Hospital Enhancement Fund chair), assisted housing (Westminister Housing Society Board) and the Manitoba Museum, to name a few.

PRESENTER | Paul Provost, 6P Marketing

Paul Provost is the founder of 6P Marketing, the Passion Marketing movement, and is a business development advisor to marketing communication departments as well as business leaders and owners. Paul started his business experience with his career in business planning and operations where he worked in the manufacturing and printing industries holding roles in sales, marketing, production and operations. Prior to starting 6P in 2008, Paul spent five years working in Calgary’s marketing and advertising agency industry where he honed his marketing communications skills. Paul brings a wealth of experience in marketing communications, project management, client service, creative development, accounting, sales and human resource management.

In addition to overseeing all 6P Marketing related work, Paul has managed a variety of accounts in diverse sectors. His experience working with leading organizations gives him unique insights that he puts to clients’ advantage on both tactical and strategic projects. Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree, is fully bilingual in French and English and is actively involved in the Winnipeg community. He is on the Board of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and a past board member of The Young Associates, The Arthritis Society of Manitoba / Nunavut and The Exchange District BIZ. In addition to his regular support and attendance at various community events, Paul and 6P are proud members of the The MB Chambers of Commerce, Winnipeg Ad Association, the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, The Metro Club, ICTAM, MHBA, UDI, EDAM and CAMA. .

PRESENTER | Bill Medd, Legacy Bowes Group

Bill is a senior executive with a broad range of business experience developed over 30 years in complex, diverse, start up and mature businesses ranging from financial, retail, distribution, and manufacturing in both B to B and B to C environments. The one constant throughout Bill’s career is change – managing through corporate cultural change, revenue growth and declining business cycles, and ownership changes, all accompanied by personal growth and development. Bill has a personal passion for coaching and developing the potential of business leaders both professionally and personally including a focus on attitude development, human behavior and relationships, skills development, and goal setting. The key word is “development” as Bill works with clients through weekly coaching sessions focused on goal setting and accountability. Bill thrives on helping leaders who are challenged by demands on their time, or want to take their business to the next level.
