Last Chance to Register: Friday, September 27th, 2013 by 5 pm!

Seminar #1: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS FOR TODAY'S CERAMIC TILE AND STONE INSTALLATIONS (1 PIDIM CEU)

Ceramic and stone tiles are beautiful and durable surface coverings, but in today’s construction environment a variety of different substrates and conditions present unique installation challenges for walls and floors. Both traditional methods and new technology methods will be discussed and, when applicable, related to the details in the TTMAC Handbook. This one hour seminar will cover the challenges associated with transitions (floor and walls); movement joints; the uncoupling principal and moisture management. Attendees will recognize new areas of application that can be attained through the utilization of new installation technology.

Seminar #2: 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. ENGAGING PROJECT TEAMS AND STAKEHOLDERS DURING THE PROJECT (2 PIDIM CEUs)

The key to successful projects is not just the nuts and bolts of how to set up and run a project, but rather the engagement of the people involved in the project. Engaging project teams and stakeholders the right way and at the right time throughout the project can enhance project success. This session will address the below questions:

    • How do you know who is a project stakeholder?
    • At what point in the project should the team be involved?
    • How do you keep the team involved?
    • How do you maintain positive communication?
    • What tool(s) could be used to keep the people and the project pointed in the same direction?

If you have worked on projects that have resulted in a constant communication battle, or would like some tips on improving communication to enhance project success, this session is for you.

Intended audience: This session is intended for all those involved with projects including project managers, project team members or those stuck with the project once it has been completed!
