Another great year for IIDEX/NeoCon Canada

Published by Julia Salerno, October 04, 2011.

2011 was a landmark year for IIDEX. It featured the launch of Hospitality Canada, the new Landscape Architecture feature area, a new Hotel Inspired Entrance & Concierge, Club Cambria Lobby Bar, an Office Chair Hockey Game and the return of the ever popular THINK: Material pavilion featuring a special display of favourite materials from II BY IV Design. With over 15,000 attendees, 350 plus exhibitors, 60 plus seminars, three international keynotes plus a host of new networking events and awards ceremonies, IIDEX 2011 was a hit.

IIDEX attendees showed their support for interior design education and research while enjoying gourmet burgers and beer at the IDC Foundation's second annual fundraising BBQ. The BBQ was held on both days of the show and remained strong despite Friday's stormy weather. Watch for updates on total funds raised, currently being tallied! Thursday's show floor cocktail party had DJ Avi Flombaum of Designer Pages on the turntables. The drinks from Club Cambria's lounge coupled with Avi's fun music had attendees showing off their dance moves on IDC's sustainable dance floor exhibiting each provincial association. The cocktail party kicked-off the showroom tours where party-goers explored some of the city's hottest furniture and design showrooms that opened their door to fete the expo. Participating showrooms included: Domison, Humanscale, IDC, Krug and Neinkamper.
