Published by Patrick Voisin, May 04, 2016.

We’re building up to World Interiors Day on May 28 by raising awareness and celebrating our amazing profession. Two IDC members have battled it out on the topic of creativity, we’ve shared 25 ways to recognize the day, and now we’re getting the scoop from IDC Industry member Yoel Berznoger of Haworth.

Q: What one thing would you want the public to know about interior design?
A: We spend 70% of our lives indoors and the design of interior spaces has a profound impact on how we live, work, shop, eat, gather, celebrate and feel. Good interior design has the ability to change our lives – and the best design does this without us even realizing it!

Q: Why is it important to spread knowledge about the interior design profession?
A: Interior design professionals bring a level of critical problem solving to the table that is unmatched in its ability to impact the day-to-day lives of the people who experience the space. The more people who appreciate that ability, the better it is for society as a whole!

Q: What does World Interiors Day mean to you?
A: I think it’s a great opportunity to help raise awareness of the power of interior design.

World Interiors Day is gaining momentum on social media, so be sure to contribute to the conversation. Let’s get this topic trending! Share with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #worldinteriorsday and #interiorsintelligence, or e-mail us at communications@idcanada.org.
