Published by Julia Salerno, June 29, 2011.

The legislation to merge Ontario Realty Corporation (ORC) and Infrastructure Ontario was announced June 6, 2011 and is now law. The new legislation proclaims that the new Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation will assume the Infrastructure Ontario name.

The purpose of the merger was to create a single agency that would have a clear mandate to deliver infrastructure projects and lending, and provide realty and planning services on behalf of the government.
