One hundred mile house Open Ideas Competition

Published by Julia Salerno, March 28, 2012.

The Architecture Foundation of British Columbia (AFBC) recently launched its international design competition to create a house design using materials and technology sourced within 100 miles of the city of Vancouver. This competition challenges the way we think about our buildings and how we choose to live in them. This competition is open to designers, architects, students and artists. Deadline to submit is April 19 at 5 p.m.

A jury of globally recognized architects and sustainability experts will select the winning entries to be showcased at a gala event on May 19, 2012 and at Western Canadaʼs largest design and trade show, IDSwest, on September 27 to 29, 2012 at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre.
